There is a country in the world where the terror of rats has increased a lot. This has not happened suddenly either. For some time now, British workers have become increasingly fed up with rats and other rodents. The situation is such that the Bin Workers Union is demanding that officials declare a “rat emergency” after sightings of “cat-sized rodents”.
The GMB union, Britain’s main union for industrial workers, claims giant “bugs” are making it impossible for garbage and sanitation workers to work. The matter is not limited to just not being able to work. There have even been reports of Sangh members being bitten and injured.
Recent reports suggest that rats the size of cats or small dogs have been seen in the area. According to STV News, the GMB union is now urging Glasgow City Council to declare a “vermin emergency”. One worker told STV they had been instructed to “kick out” garbage cans before opening them to check for rats.

A council spokesperson said the waste collection team is working with full staff, however absenteeism remains an issue which requires management. It is important that homeowners and property managers ensure that food waste is properly controlled and that bin courts are well maintained to deter rats.
This problem is being seen all over the country. Students in Sheffield threatened a rent strike last week due to an invasion of giant mutant rats. One student said that there were so many rats roaming around that he could not go to his kitchen without wearing shoes. Natalie Bungay, of The British Pest Control Association, said it is common to see an increase in rat infestations during the winter period, as rats and mice seek warm, dry shelter with access to a food source.
